Just what the doctor ordered

I've just watched a documentary on the lives of the Brontë sisters and sitting in front of the fire - glass of port in hand - I was pondering their trials and tribulations when housemate Maria came home after an elegant Downton Abbey themed dinner party at Ballymaloe House. A quick chat, a few giggles and now it's time for bed.

Sometimes a quiet uneventful night is just what the doctor ordered.

En lugn och händelselös hemmakväll är helt rätt ibland. Jag satt framför brasan med ett glas portvin i nypan och mediterade över systrarna Brontës sorgliga öden då kurskamraten Maria kom hem efter en middag i Downton Abbey-stil vid Ballymaloe House. En kort fnissig pratstund och så marsch i säng.

Imorgon blir det föreläsningar och afternoon tea.
