Damp and dismal and a few good deeds

I cannot help but mentioning the Irish weather. It's damp and dismal at the moment. Generally it is much more unpredictable compared to Finnish weather. Today, however, the rain and wind was balanced by the warm welcome fellow Ballymaloe student Annemarie and I had by the people at Penny Dinners in Cork.

Penny Dinners started as a soup kitchen during the famine in the 1840s and they still serve a hot mid-day meal to those who need it every day in every week of the year. We had a good few hours there peeling potatoes, doing the dishes and making sandwiches.

Who are the ladies in white? Members of Cobh Animation Team. Bringning the city's history to life.
